Assessments and Reports
Being Human Therapy offers a range of assessments and reports to help you better understand your child’s strengths, challenges and support needs. Each option is tailored to your child and can be used to guide therapy, support school and kinder, and inform funding applications where appropriate.
Assessments
We offer a range of assessments tailored to your needs.
Initial Screening Assessments
A combination of informal and formal standardized assessment tools may be used to analyse your child’s sensory, gross motor, fine motor, social interaction, play, cognitive and self care abilities.Â
The summary report includes information from parent interviews, clinical observations, recommendations for future services and occupational therapy goals.
Functional Capacity Assessments
A comprehensive evaluation is conducted to identify your child's functional abilities and any restrictions that they may experience in their daily tasks. A detailed report is provided on key areas such as communication, social interaction, learning, mobility, self care and community accessibility, which may be used to support funding needs.
Sensory Assessments
A sensory profile assessment is a crucial tool in understanding how a child processes and responds to sensory input. For children who experience sensory processing difficulties, this assessment can provide valuable insights that guide effective interventions.
Handwriting Assessments
We support children who face difficulties with handwriting by offering comprehensive handwriting assessments. Our OT handwriting assessment services help identify specific areas where children may struggle, whether it’s related to fine motor skills, visual-motor integration, or handwriting mechanics. These assessments provide insight into the root causes of handwriting challenges and offer personalised interventions that can improve writing skills and boost a child’s confidence in their academic abilities.
Reports
Our professional reports provide a detailed snapshot of a child's development, highlighting their strengths, challenges and milestones achieved during therapy. It also serves as an important tool to justify eligibility for funding support. They are structured to be clear, informative and accessible.
NDIS funding application and review
We provide comprehensive reports to support your children’s NDIS Funding Application.
Progress reports
Upon request, we are able to provide a report on your child’s development and progress to educators, paediatricians, and other allied health practitioners.
School/kinder observation reports
This report is provided upon the completion of a school or kinder observation session, where your therapist assesses your child’s participation, self regulation, social interactions, attention, motor skills, handwriting skills and overall independence throughout the day.
